Pulaski Park is located at 1419 Blackhawk Street in the Wicker Park neighborhood and was founded in 1912. The park’s name pays tribute to Casimer Pulaski, a Polish war hero who fought in the Revolutionary War. The large field house was constructed in 1914. The field house’s Progressive-Era mural adorns the auditorium proscenium and was completed in 1924 or 1926. . The mural, designed by Jas Oligert  and painted by Gilbert Hardic, is an allegorical scene representing the arts.
