Sherman Park |
Sherman Park is located at 1301 West 52nd Street in the Back of the Yards neighborhood. The park, established in 1905, is named after John B. Sherman, founder of Chicago’s Union Stock Yards. The Olmsted Brothers designed Sherman Park creating a waterway surrounding an island of ball fields. The classically designed field house is home to 18 Progressive-Era murals completed in 1912 by various artists from the Art Institute of Chicago’s Mural Department. The New World Series tells a narrative of North American history.
